Rwandan president rents luxury hotel for $20,000 a night
A president spending $20,664.50 for a stay in a presidential suite in a lavish hotel is not a big deal, but it becomes a big issue when the president belongs to Rwanda, one of the struggling countries.
Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame stayed in a Mandarin Oriental’s hotel’s presidential suite in New York while attending the UN General Assembly. The president faced disparagement as the average people in his country will have to spend 18 years of hard work to earn $20,664 that he simply spent on his lavish stay.
